According to a criminal complaint, officers were called to Ninth Avenue East around 10:50 p.m. on Aug. 16 after a neighbor reported a disturbing encounter.

According to initial info, the woman had been confronting a person when another individual fired shots in her direction. Investigators are working to determine the full sequence of events.

Officers were called just before 2 p.m. to the 1500 block of North 9th Avenue East, where they found 74-year-old Maedean Davin dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

During the struggle, the suspect allegedly grabbed the officer’s gun and fired a shot while it was still in its holster, leaving the officer with non-life-threatening injuries.

Minneapolis police say four people were shot in separate incidents between Saturday night and early Sunday morning, within a span of just over four hours across different parts of the city.

Police arrived to find an adult male lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his chest and neck. Officers began CPR before Saint Paul Fire medics transported him to Regions Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said a juvenile and another adult were also inside at the time of the shooting but were not hurt. A firearm was recovered inside the apartment.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension also released the names of three Fargo police officers who discharged their firearms during the encounter.

Ava Leone Kock is charged with attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

A Saint Paul man is charged with first-degree assault after police say he shot a woman through a kitchen window while two young children were inside the home earlier this week.

Officers detained three men outside the bar, including 29-year-old Davarius Lamonte Clark, who was working as a bouncer that night. Police say Clark repeatedly told them “It’s my gun” and admitted to shooting the man.
