With students and staff preparing to arrive and investigators still working to determine where the threats came from, the district closed all schools for the day out of caution.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at an apartment along the 1900 block of Ashland Drive Northwest.

Police identified the suspect as Savon Lamonte Brown, 32, of White Bear Lake, who was behind her as officers arrived. Officers attempted to stop him, but he went back inside the home.

According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived on a report of a stabbing and found a juvenile male with multiple injuries. The boy suffered multiple stab wounds.

Gregory Miles Jones is now charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, false imprisonment, threats of violence and domestic assault.

Authorities identified the driver as 34-year-old Erin Lindsay Matuska, of Inver Grove Heights. She was taken to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul with life-threatening injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is suspected to have been a factor.

Officers were called to the home after a man repeatedly dialed 911 claiming he had hostages, guns and wanted to kill them. When officers arrived, they met the caller’s father outside.

Minneapolis police responded to reports of a shooting and found an adult male lying on the front steps of an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his head.

The alleged activity happened between Aug. 19 and Sept. 25, 2025 during an investigation spanning Sauk Centre Township in Stearns County, Kandota Township in Todd County and the city of St. Cloud.

The incident happened Monday, March 9 in Apple Valley after police were called to a report of a domestic altercation involving a person who had been dragged by a vehicle.

According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived at the home and encountered a man who had a small bloody wound near his left shoulder.

The investigation spanned from January through early March and included controlled drug purchases, surveillance and a traffic stop along Interstate 94 near Clearwater in Wright County.

Prosecutors charged Marquita Lynn Williams, 42, of Minneapolis, with first-degree drug possession after investigators say she was found with more than 65 grams of cocaine during the search.

The driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound on Highway 24 when he crossed into the path of an eastbound 2004 Ford F-150 near 620th Avenue and struck the pickup.

Officers began providing medical aid, including CPR, before the man was taken by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare. He later died at the hospital.
