A rural Motley woman sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant at her home in two controlled buys in August and September 2024, according to charges filed October 2.
Laurie Ann Felix, who was 52 at the time of the alleged offenses, faces a felony charge of first-degree drug sale in each of two cases filed October 2, 2026, in Cass County District Court. Each charge alleges the sale of 17 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Agents with the West Central Drug Task Force arranged a controlled purchase of one ounce of methamphetamine from Felix at her residence in rural Motley on September 22, 2024, the first complaint says.

According to the complaint, the confidential informant (CRI) was provided with $500 in buy money and a recording device to facilitate the purchase of one ounce of methamphetamine from Felix. Agents monitored the CRI as they traveled directly to Felix’s residence without making any stops. Upon entering, the CRI could be heard discussing the weight of the bag and the transaction with Felix.
After about five minutes, the CRI left the residence and met with agents at a pre-arranged location, where they handed over a clear bag containing a white crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The total weight of the substance, including the bag, was 31.9 grams.
The complaint says Felix was arrested on September 30, 2026, after a search warrant executed at her residence turned up about seven grams of suspected methamphetamine.
The second complaint says Felix sold an informant methamphetamine for $400 at her residence on August 22, 2024, and that a state lab weighed it at 23.287 grams. The complaint says Felix has prior controlled substance convictions from Wadena County in 2017 and Stearns County in 2016. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, according to the complaints.
