Minneapolis police are investigating two separate shootings that left a man and a woman dead and another man injured early Sunday morning.

According to a criminal complaint, 18-year-old Valentino John Gaudalupe Salinas-Avery faces one count of second-degree attempted murder with intent, along with three counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Officers were called just before 3:45 a.m. to the 300 block of Second Avenue South on a report of a medical incident and found two men with gunshot wounds.

Officers were called to the encampment around 4:40 p.m. and found the victim inside a tent, sitting in a chair and with gunshot wounds to his chest.

According to Minneapolis police, the victim had been sitting in a car on the 300 block of Clifton Avenue around 4 p.m. when another car pulled up alongside.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s with life-threatening gunshot wounds in the front yard of a residence. They provided aid, but the man died at the scene.

Joshua Anthony Jones pleaded guilty in July to two counts of second-degree murder for the Sept. 18, 2024 shootings that left 20-year-old Roland Littleowl and 39-year-old Robert Brown dead.

Prosecutors filed charges of aiding an offender to avoid arrest against 30-year-old Tiffany Lynn Marie Martindale and 33-year-old Ryan Timothy Quinn.

According to initial info, the incident began as a dispute between two men in the bus shelter. Police say the confrontation escalated until one of the men pulled out a gun and fired.

A man has been charged with attempted murder after prosecutors say he fired through a Saint Paul apartment window last month, injuring another man and narrowly missing others inside the room.

Tenzin Sonam Phouthavong, 21, was charged last week with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree riot while armed.

19-year-old Keontre Orie Emery Jackson is charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of threats of violence, following a shooting Aug. 7 near 14th Street East and Nicollet Avenue.
