Initial information released by police indicates a verbal argument inside the residence escalated into gunfire. The shooter left the scene before officers arrived.

Police later arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the shooting. Investigators are also examining whether the teen may be connected to other violent crimes reported in Minneapolis this year. Authorities have not released additional details about those potential links.

In a statement, Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the department will use every available option within the juvenile justice system to address cases involving young people. The suspect and victim have not yet been identified.
