A person was shot by Saint Paul police outside Regions Hospital on Monday morning after officers responded to a domestic assault call, police say.
Officers were called around 9:15 a.m. to a domestic assault on the 400 block of Temperance Street, according to the Saint Paul Police Department. The caller told officers the suspect had fled and was armed.

Officers found the suspect on the 200 block of East 12th Street, outside Regions Hospital, where a shooting involving police happened shortly before 9:30 a.m., the department said.
Officers gave the suspect immediate aid, and the person is being treated at Regions Hospital. No officers were hurt.
Police said there is no threat to public safety. The department asked the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate.
