The man’s death was discovered shortly after 1:09 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2025, when St. Cloud police were called to an apartment building after a reported overdose.

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement was dispatched at about 4:05 a.m. to a residence in St. Cloud on a reported knife complaint. The victim briefly spoke with a dispatcher and said he had just been stabbed.

Officers were called just after 4 a.m. to a residence on the 1200 block of Washington Memorial Drive and found an adult male with a stab wound.

A person on the property contacted the St. Cloud Police Department to report the discovery of what appeared to be a body. Officers responded to the scene and located the remains, but determined the site lay just outside city limits in Minden Township.

St. Cloud Police say an officer first saw the driver travelling westbound going 62 miles per hour in the 30 zone on University Drive near Killian Boulevard around 10:40 p.m.

According to a criminal complaint filed Friday, 27-year-old Kelisha Jason Walton II is charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder with intent for an Oct. 2023, shooting in St. Cloud.

Court documents accuse 19-year-old Joselyn Mae Casillas and 22-year-old Marcos Marcello Mueller of overworking or mistreating an animal resulting in death or great bodily harm.

The investigation uncovered the suspect had moved into the St. Cloud home with Ernst in early May. Detectives later found extensive internet searches on his phone about thallium, its toxicity, and how to crystallize it into a compound.
