A Saint Cloud man threatened to kill officers and their families, headbutted a sergeant and spit at another officer while being taken into custody, according to charges.

Christopher Noel Ogle, 25, faces five charges in Stearns County District Court: felony threats of violence, two counts of fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, gross misdemeanor obstruction of legal process and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

According to the complaint, officers responded to a residence in Saint Cloud at about 1:24 a.m. on Oct. 2 after a report of an ongoing assault. When officers arrived, they heard loud screaming, music and shouting from inside. A woman answered the door, and officers identified Christopher Noel Ogle as another occupant who was yelling for police to leave.

Officers saw Ogle and the woman grabbing at each other and refusing to calm down. Ogle began threatening officers and their families, saying he could “shoot you in the head to bear my second amendment right.” Officers decided to move Ogle to a different residence for the night, but he started slamming his head on a desk, and officers decided he should be taken to a hospital because he was unfit to care for himself.

When officers tried to handcuff Ogle, he resisted by kicking and flailing. He continued making threats, saying he would kill everyone, rape them and kill their families. The woman also became agitated and tried to get close to Ogle, shoving officers and picking up a chair before being restrained.

Eventually, officers brought Ogle to a squad car. As they tried to put him in the vehicle, Ogle headbutted a sergeant in the head, causing her to feel lightheaded and develop a headache and neck and shoulder pain. While in the back of the squad, Ogle spit at an officer and continued making threats to kill him.

The charges allege Ogle threatened violence against officers, assaulted two peace officers, one by headbutting and one by spitting, and obstructed officers as they attempted to carry out their duties. He is also charged with disorderly conduct for his abusive and threatening behavior during the encounter.

The complaint was filed Oct. 2 in Stearns County District Court.
