Shakopee PD Investigating After Man Found Shot Multiple Times

 

A man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being shot several times early Saturday in Shakopee, police say.

Officers were first called to Grove Drive around 3:13 a.m. on a report of a weapons complaint and found a 40-year-old man on scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

A police department spokesperson said officers immediately began aid before paramedics arrived, the man was transported with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition as of publication.

Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be random and that there is no known threat to people in the surrounding area. Officials have not released any information about a suspect, what led up to the gunfire or whether anyone else was present when officers arrived.

A photo submitted to MN CRIME showed a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension crime scene investigation vehicle parked outside the apartment complex on Saturday morning as investigators worked the case. The BCA is assisting with processing the scene while Shakopee police continue their investigation.
