Shooting Reported at Maple Grove Benihana, Victim Hospitalized
A shooting at a Maple Grove restaurant late Friday afternoon is under investigation after police say both the suspect and victim left the scene before officers arrived.
Maple Grove officers were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to Benihana in the 11800 block of Fountains Drive after someone reported gunfire.

When police got there, neither the suspect nor the victim was still at the restaurant. Authorities said both left in separate vehicles before officers reached the area.
A short time later, the victim arrived at a local hospital with what a spokesperson called an “unknown injury.” The person is currently receiving treatment and no update on their condition has been released as of publication.

Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be random and they believe there is no immediate or ongoing threat to the public. Police have not released any information about the suspect and no arrests have been made.
