Deputies were called just before midnight Friday, Feb. 6, to a report of an assault that was later determined to have happened at a residence on Edgewater Circle in Garrison Township, just north of the county line.
Prosecutors say Jonathon Michael Kaupa attacked people inside and outside an apartment shortly before 5 a.m., killing a 44-year-old man who worked as the building’s maintenance employee and repeatedly stabbing the man’s 15-year-old son.

Abdihakim Egal is charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon for the Oct. 23 attack in south Minneapolis.
