According to the criminal complaint, police were contacted around 4:05 a.m. after a stabbing victim arrived at a hospital. The victim told officers Keck knocked on the door around 3 a.m. after being missing for three days. The victim said he was concerned about Keck’s well-being and allowed him inside the home even though Keck was not allowed to stay there.
Investigators say Keck immediately began acting aggressively and questioned a vehicle parked in the driveway. The victim told Keck to wait in the garage. The victim reported he and Keck bumped chests as Keck walked past him. During that moment, the victim said he felt a scraping sensation and noticed his shirt had been cut open and he was bleeding heavily from his stomach.

The victim told officers he did not see a knife but believed it was a knife with a three-inch blade that he had previously purchased for Keck. He then drove himself to the hospital, where doctors treated him for a deep laceration that nearly reached his stomach cavity and cut through fatty tissue. The wound required 21 staples to close.
Later that morning, the victim contacted investigators and said he was considering dropping the case if Keck sought treatment for substance use, but wanted police to continue documenting the incident.
Police also spoke with the brothers’ mother, who said she was not home during the incident. She told officers Keck had previously lived in a sober living facility but had been homeless for about six weeks. She also reported Keck was not allowed to stay at the home because of methamphetamine use. Officers who visited the home later that day reported finding blood on interior stairs and near an upstairs bathroom.
