3 Arrested After Man Stabbed in Crow Wing County

A 20-year-old man was critically injured late Friday night when he was stabbed during an assault in Crow Wing County, authorities say.

Deputies were called just before midnight Friday, Feb. 6, to a report of an assault that was later determined to have happened at a residence on Edgewater Circle in Garrison Township, just north of the county line.

Authorities received a 911 call from a driver reporting they were on Highway 169 with a passenger who had been stabbed. Deputies soon located the driver and injured passenger during a traffic stop in Mille Lacs County near Highway 169 and Vineland Road. Deputies found a 20-year-old man inside who had been stabbed. First responders provided life-saving care before the victim was airlifted to a trauma center and authorities have not released an update on his condition as of publication.

Officers have since arrested two juveniles in connection with the assault. Investigators said Saturday that a 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault. Authorities have not released details about the events leading up to the stabbing or the relationship between those involved. The suspects and the victim have not yet been formally identified.

The investigation remains active and the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is leading the case, with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Tribal Police Department. Authorities have not released additional information about potential charges or if more arrests are expected.
