According to the criminal complaint, the adult male victim told police he had boarded the bus and walked past Dancy when she confronted him, accusing him of looking at her. Investigators say Dancy then approached from behind and stabbed the man in the upper back and cut his left thumb. Medical staff and officers observed a visible stab wound to the victim’s left upper back along with a severe laceration to his thumb while he was being treated at the hospital.
Police later obtained surveillance video from the bus that captured portions of the incident.

Authorities located Dancy at around 3:15 p.m. the same day. Officers reported she was holding a pair of scissors at the time of her arrest. During an interview with investigators, Dancy told police, “one thing that happened was he tried to come onto the bus with a little crack pipe and tried to hit me with it and it kind of disturbed me so I grabbed my scissors I use to cut my hair,” adding that she “stabbed him, in a place where I know where you can’t you know like die instantly you know what I am saying.”
Court records show Dancy was booked into custody by Metro Transit Police later that afternoon and remains jailed. Bail was set at $75,000 without conditions of release.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 26.
