A Saint Paul parolee faces charges after police say he fatally shot a woman, caused the death of her unborn child, then shot and carjacked another victim nearby.

A suspect is in custody after a series of violent incidents that started in south Minneapolis and ended with two shootings and a carjacking in Kandiyohi County.

Around 11:50 a.m. on Oct. 21, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the location. Police found a victim who was then transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

When officers arrived, they found the child inside the apartment and began providing emergency medical aid. The boy was rushed to Hennepin Healthcare, but despite lifesaving efforts, he did not survive.

Witnesses reported the victim was sitting at a card table, freestyle rapping, when Daniel Walker unexpectedly pulled out a black-and-purple handgun and shot him in the chest without provocation.

The incident occurred outside an apartment complex on Osborne Road NE in Fridley when the victim was engaged in a heated argument with the suspect’s sister near the building,

Just before 6 a.m. on Oct. 19, Fourth Precinct officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 1700 block of 26th Avenue North. While en route, the call was updated to a shooting.

Around 9 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Sycamore Street East following reports of multiple gunshots and a male fleeing an apartment building. When they entered the apartment, officers found a woman with gunshot wounds.

Authorities have charged 20-year-old Albert Jerome Lucas with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting at the intersection of 33rd Avenue north and Dupont Avenue North.

Around 4:22 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West 10th Street after reports of gunfire. They found a man with a gunshot wound who was then immediately transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Tewabe Semu Getachew, 28, was charged with second-degree attempted murder after police say he shot a 50-year-old co-worker on Sunday afternoon at the U.S. Post Office location on Seventh Street West.

Ismael Vasquez Santos, 23, of Royalton, now faces two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault after allegedly gunning down two men northwest of Foley.
