A woman was critically wounded and a man seriously injured in a shooting at a Robbinsdale park late Sunday night.
Officers arrived to find a chaotic scene and located 19-year-old Amarie Cashayla-Marie Alowonie, with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers immediately provided life-saving aid before the woman was taken by paramedics to North Memorial Health Hospital with what police described as “grave injuries.” The Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced that she died of her injuries on May 12.
While officers worked to secure the scene and search for additional victims, little information was offered by those present. A large perimeter was established around the park as investigators began collecting evidence.
At 10:06 p.m., Robbinsdale police were notified that a man in his 20s had arrived at Methodist Hospital with a gunshot wound reportedly sustained in Robbinsdale. He was later transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance with serious injuries.
Crime scene investigators from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in processing the scene.
As of late Monday morning, no arrests have been announced and authorities have not released any suspect information.
