An adult was shot and killed on a Metro Transit Green Line light rail train Saturday night, Oct. 3, and no arrests have been made, Minneapolis police said Sunday.
Officers were called around 9 p.m. to a report of a shooting on a train traveling from the Stadium Village station in Minneapolis toward St. Paul, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. The train stopped at the Westgate station, near University Avenue and Curfew Street.
Metro Transit police officers found the victim with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical crews and St. Paul firefighters tried to save the victim, who died at the scene.

The suspect reportedly got off the train shortly after the shooting, police said.
MPD forensic scientists processed the scene, and homicide investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Police have not released the victim’s name.
