Court records show Vinneo Dearies Cotten has been charged with second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon stemming from the incident near the intersection of Dowling Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North in Minneapolis.
According to Minneapolis police, the incident happened around 7 p.m. on Jan. 10 as officers monitored a group moving along East Lake Street.
Metro Transit Police said officers were dispatched shortly before 3:30 p.m. to a reported shooting involving a northbound METRO C Line bus near 36th Avenue North and Penn Avenue North.
Preliminary information suggests the shooting occurred on a westbound Green Line train as it approached the Hamline Avenue station.
