Gunfire Erupts During Apple Valley Fight, Teen Shot in Face

An 18-year-old man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the face early Saturday at an Apple Valley park, according to police.

Officers were called just before 12:40 a.m. to the 6800 block of Fortino Street, where witnesses reported a group fighting near Kelley Park before gunfire rang out and people scattered.

While officers were searching the area, police say the shooting victim arrived at the Apple Valley Police Department. Authorities say the man was shot in the face, and he was transported to the hospital by paramedics. His injuries were described as life-threatening.

No arrests have been made. Apple Valley Police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating.
