A woman pulled a gun and pointed it at a store manager and others during a confrontation outside a Maplewood business, according to the complaint.
Emone Winn, 28, faces two felony charges: second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and threats of violence.
According to the complaint, a Maplewood police officer heard shouting in a parking lot on October 13 and saw a group of people outside a store arguing. The store manager approached the officer and reported that a woman had pointed a gun at her. The woman, later identified as Emone Winn, got into her vehicle and drove away. The officer stopped Winn in the parking lot, where she appeared visibly upset and said the manager had disrespected Winn’s sister earlier that day.

Winn told the officer she had a handgun on the front passenger seat and a valid permit to carry. The officer secured a loaded handgun from the vehicle and detained Winn. After being read her rights, Winn said she went to the store to talk to the manager about being disrespectful to the sister, and said the situation escalated into an argument.
Winn admitted pushing the manager during the argument and said that after walking out to her car, the manager squared up to her, wanting to fight. Winn said she then removed her pistol from her purse, held it in her hand and moved it around while talking to the manager, but denied pointing it at anyone.
The manager told police that Winn is a former employee. She said that earlier in the day, Winn’s sister came into the store and was spraying perfume around, and the manager told her to stop. When Winn learned about the incident, she came to the store and told the manager not to talk to Winn’s sister. The manager reported that Winn punched her in the forehead. The manager told Winn they could go fight outside, and when they got outside, Winn grabbed a gun and pointed it at her.
A store employee told police that Winn was recently fired and that earlier in the day, Winn’s sister had come into the store and was spraying body spray. The manager asked her to stop, and the sister threw down the spray and left. Later, Winn arrived and confronted the manager. The employee said Winn hit her in the ponytail with her hand and “swung on” the manager. The argument continued outside, where Winn pulled a gun and pointed it at the manager and others.
Another employee told police that Winn pointed the gun at the manager and said, “She was going to pop her big goofy a**.” The manager showed police store surveillance footage. Interior footage showed a verbal altercation, Winn touching the first employee’s head and Winn extending her arm to punch the manager. Exterior footage showed Winn walking to her vehicle, opening the driver’s door, and then walking back toward the store holding something in her right hand.
The charges allege Winn assaulted another person with a dangerous weapon, a pistol, and threatened a crime of violence in reckless disregard of the risk of causing terror.
The complaint was filed October 15 in Ramsey County District Court.
