A Saint Paul man pulled a pistol on a Green Line train in front of a group of children after a Metro Transit Trip Agent asked him for fare, according to the complaint.
Jeremiah Williams Jr., 20, faces a felony charge of threats of violence with reckless disregard for risk, filed October 16 in Ramsey County District Court.
According to the complaint, Metro Transit Trip Agents reported a male waving a handgun on a westbound Green Line train at about 8:56 p.m. on September 4, 2026. The man, later identified as Williams, was last seen exiting at the Lexington Parkway westbound station platform. One Trip Agent told police she approached Williams on the train and asked him for fare.

Williams responded with profanity and hostility, telling her, “I’m not giving you no m************ fare,” and, when asked about his behavior, replied, “Cause b**** I can.” The agent said she laughed as a defense mechanism, and Williams continued, “Yeah b**** why you think s*** funny... you ain’t got no gun, do you? you won’t blow this b**** will you?”
As Williams prepared to exit the train at the Victoria platform, he pulled out a pistol and held it at his side, the complaint says. Another Trip Agent did not witness the exchange but told police he saw Williams had a skeleton hand tattoo. CCTV footage reviewed by police corroborated the first agent’s account and showed Williams removing a firearm from behind a backpack as he and a female companion exited the train.
The footage also showed a woman with four small children who were trying to exit at the same time. Williams pushed through the children and, as he pulled out the pistol, pointed the gun’s muzzle at one of the children, according to the complaint. The woman can be heard yelling for the children to go.
Williams and his female companion then boarded another train. The female companion can be heard on video saying, “Are you dumb?” Williams replied, “I don’t give no f****.” The female said, “I bet you don’t…your stupid a** going to end up in jail.” Williams then put the pistol back in his backpack and said, “laugh in my face b**** I will kill you,” the complaint states. The two exited at the Lexington Parkway station.
Police searched the area but did not locate Williams or his companion. An “attempt to identify” alert was sent out to officers. According to the complaint, a Saint Paul police officer recognized Williams from a previous incident at a Target store and informed Metro Transit Police. Officers reviewed CCTV footage from both the train and the Target store, confirming Williams’ identity by his skeleton-style hand tattoo, shoes and backpack.
The threats of violence charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both, according to the complaint.
