A Saint Paul man threatened to kill everyone in a home and punched multiple people during a late-night gathering, prosecutors say.

Jamario David McCool, 24, faces one felony count of threats of violence and four misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree assault in Ramsey County District Court.

According to the complaint, officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a male friend had punched several people. When officers arrived, they encountered an aggressive man with blood on his face and shirt who appeared heavily intoxicated. The man, later identified as McCool, yelled at officers and warned, “Want to talk to me?

Let me tell you something, s***’s gonna get wicked.” A woman screamed that McCool had punched her in the face. Officers struggled to restrain him as he resisted arrest, repeatedly threatened them and lunged out of the squad car before being taken into custody.

Witnesses told police that McCool had been invited to the home by a resident after meeting online. The group began drinking, and witnesses said McCool became physically aggressive, punching one woman twice in the eye and refusing to leave when asked. Another woman told officers that McCool punched her in the face and chest, put her in a chokehold that made it hard to breathe and threatened to kill everyone present.

She said her two children were sleeping in the living room during the assault, and that McCool threatened them as well. One child was so frightened he urinated on himself.

A roommate reported seeing McCool punch two women and said he intervened by putting McCool in a chokehold to protect the others. The roommate said McCool bit him on the arm during the struggle and tried to assault one of the women again after being released. Another witness said McCool punched him several times in the head and scratched his arm after being escorted outside. Multiple witnesses recalled McCool making repeated threats to kill everyone in the home.

Officers documented injuries to several people, including bruises, scratches and cuts. The complaint states that McCool continued to make aggressive and threatening comments to officers and medical staff while being transported to the hospital, including threats to kill their families.
