Officers found an armed man in a backyard area between North High Street and North Lakeshore Drive who refused commands as they tried to speak with him.

Officers were sent Saturday, Dec. 6 to 1300 Shingle Creek Crossing and learned while they were on the way that the suspect was still on scene.

The criminal complaint outlines a series of escalating confrontations that started inside the unit and ended with 34-year-old Spring Jonae Mason being arrested and a handgun recovered from a Ford Escape.

Police were called to Twins Market & Meat on Fourth Street East at 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 1 and arrived to find a chaotic scene involving gunfire between two groups, a crashed vehicle and victims scattered across multiple locations.

Deputies were sent to the 900 block of Golf Course Road just before 9 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a man yelling in the street while carrying a large knife. When they arrived, they found Trunnell walking in the roadway with the knife in his hand.

Officers began first aid until Saint Paul Fire medics took over and brought the victim to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Saint Paul officers were called shortly after 4:30 p.m. to the area of 4th Street East and Earl Street after several 911 callers reported gunfire.

Officers responded to an apartment building on the 700 block of North Victoria Street where officers found a man fatally wounded and a suspect fleeing in a car moments before crashing.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man with multiple gunshot wounds and began lifesaving efforts until Saint Paul Fire medics took over. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident began around 8:56 p.m. on the 900 block of Golf Course Road after a 911 caller reported a man in the street yelling and carrying a large knife.

Police say they responded around 4:37 a.m. to the 6100 block of Quinwood Lane North where a resident reported that an adult male was outside knocking on a window.

Dejon Paul Brown, 30, is accused of shooting the 40-year-old victim multiple times, leaving him in critical condition, before fleeing and leading officers on a chase.
