A Minneapolis teen has been certified to stand trial as an adult in two separate 2024 homicides.

Officers detained three men outside the bar, including 29-year-old Davarius Lamonte Clark, who was working as a bouncer that night. Police say Clark repeatedly told them “It’s my gun” and admitted to shooting the man.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man with a life-threatening stab wound. Medical crews attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died at the scene.

Luke Joshua Cain, 30, pleaded guilty in May to second-degree unintentional murder while committing a felony and was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison.

The victim’s mother called 911 around 8:10 a.m. that morning after finding her son unresponsive under a picnic table in the park, which is next to her residence. She told dispatchers her son had blood around his head, was cold to the touch and partially under the table.

Saint Paul officers responded around 12:10 a.m. to the 1500 block of University Avenue West, outside the Midway Saloon, after Metro Transit officers nearby heard gunfire and located the scene.

Bryan William Demarais, 36, pleaded guilty earlier this month to second-degree murder and two counts of child endangerment for the December 28, 2023 killing of his wife inside their rural Dassel home.

Police found a man in his 40s outside with at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers began providing medical aid until they were relieved by Minneapolis firefighters and paramedics, but he died at the scene.

Officers from the Third Precinct responded just before 1 a.m. to reports of gunfire near East 24th Street and 18th Avenue South. When they arrived, police found a man with at least one life-threatening gunshot wound.

Officers from the Fifth Precinct were called to the area of Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South at 2:33 a.m. after a report of shots fired.

Inside the residence, Minneapolis police found two people dead and another woman in her 40s with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment and is expected to survive.

Brooklyn Park police say Melchizedek Kpaan was taken into custody Friday morning in North Ridgeville, a suburb west of Cleveland, where officers had tracked him following a second-degree murder warrant.
