Police say a man died after being shot late Saturday night in Minneapolis, just before midnight near Chicago Avenue and East Franklin Avenue.
Around 11:58 p.m. on Sept. 20, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area.
A short time later, a man arrived at Hennepin Healthcare with at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Initial info indicates there was an altercation before the shooting and a possible suspect ran from the scene. A 911 caller reported hearing one gunshot and then saw the victim collapse. Minneapolis Police Forensic Scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed the man’s death and said no arrests have been made:
“Another life has been lost to gun violence,” O’Hara said. “We urge anyone with information to come forward so we can uncover the truth and work to stop this cycle of violence.”
