Teen Driver Involved in Crash That Left Man Critically Injured
A 74-year-old man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash Sunday evening in Blaine.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the collision happened Sept. 21 around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of southbound Highway 65 and 109th Avenue Northeast.

The driver of a 2008 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Highway 65 and attempted to turn west onto 109th when it collided with the 2004 Buick LeSabre.
The Accord was driven by a 17-year-old girl. The extent of her injuries is unknown. Her passenger, a 17-year-old boy of Coon Rapids, was not injured.
The driver of the Buick, identified as Randy Allen Kessel of Braham, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Anoka with life-threatening injuries. Two passengers in the Buick, both 12-year-old girls, were transported to Mercy Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
The State Patrol reported that all people involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. Authorities said alcohol was not a factor and road conditions were dry.
The Blaine Police Department, Blaine Fire Department and Allina Ambulance assisted at the scene. The State Patrol is continuing to investigate.
