The crash was reported around 6:45 a.m. on January 5 at mile marker 233 in Rockwood Township.

The driver was identified as Braden Charles Rahlf, of Rochester. State Patrol records say the crash happened around 5:54 a.m. on Jan. 3 on eastbound U.S. Highway 14 near milepost 206 in Kalmar Township.

The State Patrol said a Dodge Durango was traveling northbound on Highway 71 while a Kia Sportage was traveling southbound when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The occupant of the vehicle was extricated from their vehicle and transported to a hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Authorities have not released the identity of the driver.

Deputies were alerted to a two-vehicle crash with unknown injuries and arrived to find a GMC Sierra pickup and a Chevrolet Impala that had gone into the ditch near the intersection.

The difficult travel conditions came after freezing rain and sleet that moved across southern Minnesota, leaving roads coated with ice and making early-morning driving hazardous across much of the region.

Ralohn Lorrane Hare, 35, is charged in Ramsey County with two felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide stemming from the Nov. 2 crash near Arlington Avenue East and Prosperity Avenue.

39-year-old Danielle Lee Boyd was crossing the roadway when a northbound Cadillac CTS, driven by a 41-year-old man from Isle, hit her. The State Patrol says the driver was traveling northbound on Highway 47 near 400th Street.

Jeremy Robert Lind, of Ham Lake, is accused of causing the June 13 fatal crash at Highway 65 and Sims Road NE that left 74-year-old Audrey Marie Evans dead at the scene.

State Patrol officials said a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze went off the road and came to a stop in the median. The 66-year-old Forest Lake man driving the Cruze got out and walked into the northbound lanes.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. at 190th Avenue in Wood Lake Township as crews across the region were responding to rapidly deteriorating road conditions.

A deputy arrived a few minutes later and found the crash involved an eastbound 2006 Mustang driven by an adult woman from Rochester and a westbound 2019 Toyota Tundra.
