One person died in a two-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 35 in Steele County on Wednesday evening, the State Patrol says.
The crash happened around 7:55 p.m. at Milepost 37 in Somerset Township, according to the Patrol.
A 40-year-old Owatonna woman was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. A 33-year-old Ellendale man was driving a 2014 RAM 1500 pickup. The State Patrol has not said which driver died.

Airbags did not deploy in either vehicle, troopers said, and the road was dry at the time of the crash.
The State Patrol’s Rochester office is leading the investigation. The Steele County Sheriff’s Office and Owatonna Fire assisted at the scene.
Troopers plan to release the drivers’ names Thursday by noon, after notifying next of kin. The cause of the crash has not been released.
