A 61-year-old man died after an early Tuesday crash on Highway 14 in Waseca County, authorities say.

The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, on westbound Highway 14 near mile marker 156 in Saint Mary Township.

According to the State Patrol, the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe was westbound when the vehicle left the roadway. Authorities have not said what caused the driver to go off the road.

The driver, a 61-year-old man from Waseca, was not wearing a seat belt and died in the crash.

Authorities said his name will be released by April 13.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. Waseca Police, Waseca Fire, Waseca Sheriff and North Memorial Ambulance assisted at the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is still investigating.
