A 48-year-old man died after a rollover crash while towing another vehicle in rural Sibley County.

The crash happened around 10:50 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Highway 19 and 441st Avenue in Dryden Township.

Authorities say a 2003 Nissan Xterra was traveling eastbound on Highway 19 while towing a 2000 Chevy S Truck when the Chevy began to fishtail. Investigators say that caused the Nissan to roll into the south ditch.

The driver of the Nissan, Kristopher Michael Anderson, of Lakeville, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.

A passenger, Jennifer C. Hoffart, 42, of Sioux Falls, was wearing a seat belt and was taken to Arlington ER with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say road conditions were dry at the time of the crash and alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor.

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office, Gaylord Police and Fire, and ambulance crews from Gaylord and Arlington assisted at the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
