A woman died after a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening near the intersection of County Road 7 and County Road 44 on the north side of Fair Haven Township in Stearns County.

Tina Timmers, 56, of St. Augusta, was declared deceased at the scene. She was a passenger in a 2022 silver Ford Expedition driven by Gavin Timmers, 16, of St. Augusta, according to authorities.

Around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, Gavin Timmers was driving the Expedition westbound on County Road 44, approaching the intersection with County Road 7. The intersection is controlled by stop signs for westbound traffic on County Road 44.

Timmers entered the intersection and collided with a white Dodge Ram truck driven by Katie Payne, 42, of Maple Lake, who was traveling northbound on County Road 7 at the time.

The collision caused the Expedition to roll. Responding law enforcement, fire departments and ambulance services provided care to all occupants at the scene, but life-saving efforts for Tina Timmers were unsuccessful.

The Expedition was also carrying Patrick Ternes, 79, of St. Cloud; Ehren Timmers, 49, of St. Augusta; Grant Timmers, 19, of St. Augusta. The Dodge Ram carried passengers Ryan Payne, 47, and a 15-year-old passenger, both of Maple Lake. All surviving occupants were transported to St. Cloud Hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting a crash reconstruction and it remains under investigation.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota DNR, South Haven Fire & Rescue, Mayo Ambulance Service and Watkins Ambulance Service.
