According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the collision happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Southbound Highway 61 near Kingsborough Trail.

David Sampson, 54, of Prior Lake, died after his 1999 Victory motorcycle and a Hyundai Elantra collided around 1:48 p.m. at the intersection of southbound Highway 13 and McColl Drive.

The rider, identified as 58-year-old William Windhauser, was reportedly experiencing respiratory distress when first responders arrived and began lifesaving efforts.

The driver of the SSR Terminator, identified as Richard James Duffee of Mora, died at the scene. Troopers reported that he was not wearing a helmet, and it’s unknown whether alcohol was a factor.

An officer initiated a traffic stop and the truck pulled over in the 1100 block of 8th Avenue North. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver threw an item out of the passenger-side window and then fled the traffic stop at a high rate of speed.

Cory Shawn Olson, 40, of Cambridge, entered the intersection from Wildlife Road without stopping at the posted sign and crashed into another pickup, the State Patrol says.

Saint Paul Fire medics responded and transported them to Regions Hospital. The 14-year-old, who was driving the scooter, was later pronounced dead. The 13-year-old passenger remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old man from Chisholm, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Initial information from police indicates there were no signs of impairment involved.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched just before 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday to the intersection of County Road 7 and 235th Street West following a 911 call reporting a serious crash.

A head-on crash in Chisago County Friday left one man dead and another injured, with a separate motorcycle crash in Mounds View two hours later sending a 64-year-old rider to the hospital.

Deputies responded to the intersection of County Highway 56 and County Road 117, finding a woman unresponsive in a nearby swamp. She was later airlifted to a hospital in Fargo and the suspect remained on scene, later admitting to deputies that he had been drinking.

The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near State Highway 65 NE and Sims Road NE. Authorities say an adult male was driving a pickup truck southbound on the highway when he struck the rear of a SUV driven by an adult woman.
