Authorities say 46-year-old Kala Karlene Henry was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt at the posted speed limit when a GMC Acadia driven by 20-year-old Goay Gatluak Jikany approached from behind at a high rate of speed and struck the back driver’s side of her car. The impact pushed Henry’s car into the right ditch where it hit a culvert, rolled and came to rest. Jikany’s vehicle was left disabled in the right lane and facing the wrong direction.

Responders from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Shakopee police and fire and Allina EMS found Henry critically hurt. She was taken to St. Francis Regional Medical Center, where she died. Troopers say she had been wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not detected.
