On September 14, 2025, Shakopee Police Officer Yvonne Havemeier was dispatched to a report of a theft at Walmart in Shakopee, Scott County, Minnesota. The initial report is the two suspects, a male and female, stole approximately $800.00 worth of merchandise. Officer Havemeier responded to the scene and spoke to the asset protection employee, an identified adult female, (“RP”). RP stated the female acted like she was paying by putting her card near the card reader but did not pay. She and the male passed points of sale and PR intercepted them.
The suspects walked around RP and left the store. RP told the male to stop for theft and he denied stealing merchandise. Both left in the same vehicle. Surveillance video showed both suspects arrive together, enter separately, push individual carts, and walked around the store separately. The female scanned all the merchandise, which amounted to $711. The male had a Shark vacuum valued at $200 that was not scanned. The total amount of merchandise was $911. Through investigation, the female was identified as Sachene Marie Needham, [DOB REDACTED], (“Defendant Needham”). The male was identified as Fernando Louis May-Gil Garcia, [DOB REDACTED], (“Defendant May-Gil Garcia”). Defendant May-Gil Garcia’s previous probation officer also positively identified him as the suspect.
A closer review of the surveillance video by RP revealed more merchandise was taken that originally believed. RP made an itemized list of the stolen property. The total amount taken was $1,005.91.
