A 33-year-old Eden Prairie man allegedly threatened to kill another man, followed him to a Plymouth tire store parking lot and intentionally crashed his vehicle head-on into the other man’s car, prosecutors say.
The collision happened on August 29, 2026, after the two men argued at a bar and the victim decided to leave, according to the complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court.
Alexander Thomas Sojka, 33, of Eden Prairie, faces four charges: second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, threats of violence with reckless disregard for risk, refusing to submit to a chemical test and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

According to court records, the victim told officers he and Sojka had been out drinking that evening and got into an argument at the bar. The victim said he decided to leave, got into his car and was followed by Sojka, who banged on his window and threatened to kill him the next time he saw him.
The victim reported that he drove to the parking lot of a tire store in Plymouth, where Sojka followed and then intentionally crashed his vehicle head-on into the victim’s car at an estimated 25 miles per hour. Both men got out of their vehicles and a physical altercation occurred before the victim called 911.
Officers arriving at the scene observed two vehicles that appeared to have been involved in a head-on collision. They spoke with the victim, who described the events leading up to the crash. Officers also spoke with Sojka and noted that his eyes were bloodshot and watery and that he smelled of alcohol.
Police asked Sojka to perform standardized field sobriety tests, but he refused, telling officers, “No, No, No. Take me to jail. F*** you.” At the police station, officers read Sojka the implied consent advisory and informed him that refusing to consent to testing was a crime. Sojka then refused to consent to a breath test.
The charges were filed Tuesday, September 1. A court date has not yet been set.

First-degree assault, alleging great bodily harm, carries up to 20 years in prison. The lower degrees range from misdemeanor up to 10-year felony exposure depending on weapon use and harm.
