Three men beat and robbed another man outside a Saint Paul gas station, then fled on ride-share scooters as witnesses called 911, according to charges.
Chaz Edward Williams, 20, of Saint Paul, faces a charge of aiding and abetting first-degree aggravated robbery.
According to the complaint, multiple 911 callers reported seeing three men assault another man outside a gas station in Saint Paul on August 20, 2026. One caller told officers the men took money from the victim before riding away on scooters.

Officers arrived and found the victim, who said he did not know the three men. He reported that they punched and kicked him after a brief conversation and that seven one-dollar bills he had in his pocket were missing. Officers documented injuries to the victim, including bleeding from his nose, swelling on his face and lip and bleeding from his elbow.
Police soon located three men on scooters matching the suspects’ descriptions. They were identified as Charles Satash Fillmore, Darious Hampton Knight and Chaz Edward Williams. Officers found seven one-dollar bills in Knight’s sweatshirt pocket and observed blood on his shoes.
Williams told officers that the victim had previously made comments that made women he knew uncomfortable. He said that on this day, he and the others confronted the victim and after a conversation, “we beat him up.” In a Mirandized interview, Williams claimed the victim swung at him first and he responded with a single punch before backing away as the others continued the assault. He also said Knight took money from the victim as they left.
A witness driving by told police he saw three men “stomping out” the victim, then returning to assault him again after riding their scooters around the block. The witness said he saw the men go through the victim’s pockets and take money before fleeing.
Surveillance video showed the three men approaching the victim, with Williams taking several steps toward him and throwing a punch. The victim stumbled and was kicked by Knight, then fell to the ground. Fillmore and Knight repeatedly punched and kicked the victim as he lay defenseless. Williams picked up an unknown item from the ground and backed away, while Knight picked up another item near the victim’s body.
In a Mirandized interview, Knight said he and Williams are brothers and that they recognized the victim as someone they said had made inappropriate advances toward a young girl they knew. Knight claimed he could not punch the victim due to a broken arm but admitted to repeatedly kicking him. Knight denied taking the money, saying Williams put it in his pocket after the assault.
Williams was scheduled to appear in Ramsey County court on August 24, 2026.
