Man Arrested in Death of 7-year-old Brother
A 27-year-old Eden Prairie man has been arrested after authorities discovered his 7-year-old brother deceased inside a residence with apparent strangulation injuries.
On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Eden Prairie Police Department responded to a call on Lee Drive to check on the welfare of an adult male who was reported to be in distress.
During their response, officers discovered an unresponsive 7-year-old boy within the residence. Despite immediate medical attention and transport to Fairview Southdale Hospital, the boy was later pronounced dead.
After a medical evaluation, Dalal Bayle Idd, the victim's 27-year-old brother, was taken into custody on suspicion of 2nd-degree murder and is currently held at Hennepin County Jail.
The circumstances of the death remain under investigation by the Eden Prairie Police, assisted by the Hennepin County Crime Lab. The official cause of death and the identity of the victim will be determined by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
