The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two 23-year-olds killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday around 2:45 a.m. on Highway 8 near Floodwood.

Deputies responded to the area after an automated 911 call from an iPhone relaying that the owner had been in a severe crash. Deputies found two occupants of the vehicle deceased at the scene, with the driver still trapped inside and critically injured. The driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.
