According to the complaint, the woman reported that Winter left her a voicemail on October 28, 2026, saying that if he saw her out in public alone, he would kill her. She also said Winter threatened to slash her tires and called her multiple derogatory names in another lengthy message. The woman allowed an officer to listen to the voicemails, which included Winter stating he would murder her if he saw her alone and threatening to damage her vehicle.

The complaint states the woman said Winter would hit her and that the violence had escalated over time. She told officers she left him on October 28 because the situation was getting worse and blocked his phone number and social media accounts to avoid further contact.

After reviewing the voicemails and speaking with the woman, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Winter. He was found at his workplace, arrested and brought to the Douglas County Jail.

At the jail, the complaint says Winter spoke with officers. He also admitted to leaving her a voicemail while drunk, saying that if he saw her, he would kill her.
