A man displayed a firearm and threatened to shoot up a Minneapolis residence after pushing the victim to the ground and striking her vehicle with a handgun, according to the complaint.

Tyjon Terrelle Jenkins, 22, faces charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and threats of violence, filed October 26 in Hennepin County District Court.

According to the complaint, Minneapolis police responded to a report at a residence in Minneapolis on October 4, 2026. The victim told officers that Jenkins arrived at the residence to drop off a child, accompanied by a woman who remained in the vehicle and began yelling. When the victim questioned Jenkins about bringing the woman, the victim handed the child to another adult.

The complaint states that as the woman exited the vehicle, Jenkins pushed the victim to the ground, causing minor injuries to her leg. Jenkins then left the area but parked about one block away. The victim reported that Jenkins approached her while she was seated inside her vehicle, displayed a firearm and began banging on her vehicle window with the gun. Jenkins also threatened to shoot up her residence before leaving the area.

About 30 minutes later, Jenkins returned with several family members and the woman. The complaint says a physical altercation occurred at that time.

On October 6, officers interviewed an additional witness who confirmed seeing Jenkins strike the victim’s vehicle with a handgun but was unsure if the vehicle was damaged.

Jenkins is charged with second-degree assault for allegedly using a dangerous weapon against the victim and with threats of violence for threatening to shoot up the residence.
