A man repeatedly pointed a loaded handgun at the victim’s head and threatened to shoot during an argument inside a Lauderdale home, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County.

Edward Martaze Bailey faces a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to the complaint, officers from the Saint Anthony Police Department responded to a home in Lauderdale at about 3:00 a.m. on October 11, 2026, after a report of two men yelling, with one pointing a gun at the other. Officers encountered the victim outside the home, who told police that Bailey had argued with him and, during the argument, pointed a loaded handgun at him and threatened to shoot.

The victim said Bailey and several other people were still inside the home, but that the threats were directed only at him. Officers called into the home multiple times but received no response.

The complaint states that the victim later provided a video he recorded during the argument. The video shows Bailey pointing a handgun at the victim’s head, with the sound of the gun being “racked” audible just before. When the victim asks, “You gonna kill me?“, Bailey responds, “Yeah! Get the f*** out my house!” Bailey then brings the gun down but says, “I’ll pull the trigger right now!” As the victim yells, “Stop!“, Bailey points the gun at his head again. The video shows Bailey holding the gun and repeatedly pointing it at the victim’s head for several minutes.

The complaint notes that Bailey holds an active permit to carry a firearm.

The charge was filed October 23 in Ramsey County District Court.
