A man called a woman from the Becker County Jail and discussed having another woman beaten, according to a criminal complaint.
Steven Lee Larson, 41, of Frazee, is charged with threats of violence and conspiracy to commit third-degree assault. The complaint was filed Oct. 23 in Becker County District Court.
The complaint says an investigator reviewed a call Larson placed from the jail to a woman on Oct. 10. During the call, it says, Larson was angry that she had let another woman into his apartment and suspected that woman of taking some of his clothing. He said, “I’m gonna get that b**** f***** up,” and asked whether she could be found.

The complaint says the woman on the call told Larson where the other woman could usually be found. Larson then asked how he could get her “somewhere,” and the woman on the call said she was “on the same page,” according to the complaint. Larson suggested she take the other woman for a ride, saying, “I can get her, I want to f****** just get her smashed,” and that he needed someone else to carry it out for him.
According to the complaint, Larson told the woman on the call to take the other woman to a lake access and “wreck her a**,” and said she had to tell him when so he could tell “his people” when to be there. She agreed, responding “right.” Larson again said he was going to get the other woman “wrecked,” asked whether the woman on the call was okay with the plan and said, “this b**** will end up in the hospital probably.”
The complaint says the woman on the call answered, “as long as she doesn’t get f****** killed, yes, I’m f****** fine with it.” Larson laughed and said he did not think it would go that far, but that it would be “bad enough and she is gonna know it was me.”
Larson is charged with threats of violence for his statements about having the other woman assaulted and hospitalized, and with conspiracy to commit third-degree assault for planning the attack with the woman on the call.
