A man in a grey hoody pushed a victim to the ground and stole a purse at gunpoint near Washington and Third in Minneapolis, then used the victim’s credit card at a store later that night, according to charges.
Ethan J Weckman, 21, of Oak Park, faces a charge of first-degree aggravated robbery, court records show. The charge was filed Friday, September 4, in Hennepin County District Court.
According to the complaint, the victim was walking in the area at about 8 p.m. on August 14, 2026, when a black Chevy Impala pulled up. The passenger got out, approached the victim with a firearm and demanded the purse. The assailant pushed the victim to the ground and took the purse. The assailant was wearing a grey hoody, according to the complaint.

About an hour later, the victim’s credit card was used at a store. Surveillance video showed one person attempting to use the card while wearing a grey hoody, and another person in a black hooded jacket with red on the sides. The victim’s credit card was located in a black Chevy Impala hours after the robbery, the complaint states.
On August 25, 2026, officers arrested Ethan J Weckman and another person in Stearns County for aggravated robbery. Both were carrying firearms at the time of arrest. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the Stearns County incidents and identified Weckman as one of the people attempting to use the victim’s credit card.
The complaint states that Weckman presents a danger to public safety, and the State requested a warrant for his arrest.
