Police in West St. Paul are investigating the death of a person whose body was found in a wooded area and who appears to have been dead for an extended period.
Officers were called to a report of a body in a wooded area near the 100 block of Wentworth Avenue East, according to a police spokesperson.
The person is believed to be an adult man and has not yet been formally identified.

The body was found in an advanced state of decomposition, which the department said indicates the person had been dead for a long time. There were no obvious signs of trauma, police said.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death and confirm the person’s identity.
