Online threats prompted police responses at two Lakeville high schools Tuesday.
The threats were submitted through Lakeville Area Schools’ anonymous reporting system on September 22, 2026, according to a joint release from Lakeville police and the school district.
Police responded to Lakeville South High School shortly after 9 a.m. after receiving threats that indicated firearms and explosives might be inside the school. Students and staff were evacuated. First responders and police dogs searched the building and found no weapons or evidence of violence.

Shortly after 12:15 p.m., additional threats through the same reporting system targeted Lakeville North High School and referenced weapons. First responders searched the building and surrounding area. They found no weapons or evidence of violence there, either.
Police said the investigation remains active. The department is working with state and federal partners to identify who was responsible for the threats.
