A Brooklyn Center man sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in his home.
The incident occurred on June 8, 2026 when the child was reported missing.
Angel Morales Vargas Morales, 18, faces two charges: 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting the victim and 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct for engaging in sexual contact with her. The complaint states that the victim was picked up from her residence by Morales Vargas, who then drove her to his home.

Once there, he took her to the basement, where he began kissing and hugging her. Morales Vargas then touched the victim inappropriately and sexually assaulted her.
Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report about the missing child. Upon locating the victim, she disclosed the details of the assault to investigators. Morales Vargas was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Hennepin County Jail, where he remains.
The complaint does not mention any prior criminal history for Morales Vargas. Angel Morales Vargas Morales is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail. A court date has not yet been set.
