According to the criminal complaint, surveillance footage shows Wren arrived at the apartment complex around 12:15 p.m. in a grey Kia K5. He went inside the building and, about eight minutes later, he exited with the victim, the court documents say.
As the two walked through the parking lot toward the Kia, Wren produced a firearm and allegedly shot the victim multiple times. The victim fell to the ground and Wren stood over him, firing additional shots before getting back into the car and fleeing.
Officers located the grey Kia K5 around 12:50 p.m. near W. 62nd Street and Xerxes Avenue South in Edina. Three occupants were taken into custody, including Wren. The other two individuals have not been formally charged.

A search warrant was executed at Wren’s apartment, where officers recovered a pistol from underneath a grey hooded sweatshirt along with three magazines and a magazine extender.
An autopsy revealed five entrance wounds on the victim. At least three bullet wounds appeared to have traveled through his chest and the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
Wren is being held on $1 million bail at the Hennepin County Jail. His first court appearance is set for Monday at 1:30 p.m. Second-degree intentional murder carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
