A 32-year-old Champlin man died Sunday afternoon after his vehicle struck a median barrier on Highway 169 in Edina, authorities say.

Ryan Michael Eiler was driving a 2004 Toyota RAV4 northbound on Highway 169 near Highway 62 when the vehicle abruptly swerved to the left and hit the cement median barrier around 12:38 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Eiler was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died. He was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not suspected as a factor, the patrol says.

The roadway was dry at the time of the crash.
