On April 22, 2026 at approximately 12:24 P.M., officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting at 33xx 66th Street West in Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota with one male, “Victim” herein, shot. It was determined that Victim had been shot multiple times in the chest and was pronounced dead. The autopsy was performed on April 23, 2026 where five entrance wounds were identified with at least three bullet wounds that appeared to have traveled through Victim’s chest. Officers were able to obtain surveillance footage of the incident.
In the footage, Victim comes into the frame and begins interacting with a male in a grey hooded sweatshirt, later identified as ELEVOUN QUINNELL WREN, [DOB redacted], “Defendant” herein. Defendant is joined by three other men. Victim and Defendant then get into a physical altercation with Victim putting his arms around Defendant’s neck at one point. The two then disappear behind a pole and Victim falls to the ground to the right of the pole. Defendant can then be seen standing over Victim with his right arm outstretched toward Defendant and something in his right hand.
The three other men can be seen standing to the left of the pole. Defendant and the three men then take off running away from the camera. Further surveillance showed Defendant entering an apartment unit identified as his after the shooting. A short time later, Defendant can be seen exiting the apartment wearing a red and black hooded sweatshirt and leaves the building to the south. A search warrant was executed in Defendant’s apartment and a pistol was recovered from underneath a gray hooded sweatshirt in the corner of the closet.
Three magazines and a magazine extender were also recovered. Defendant was taken into custody on April 23, 2026 where he now remains.
