The suspect faces charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and third-degree assault involving substantial bodily harm stemming from an incident in the 1200 block of Sherwood Street.

According to court documents, Khalid Said Barre, 33, is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery and fourth-degree assault of a peace officer in connection with an incident at an apartment building in Minneapolis.

Jonathan Chet Winch, 35, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, is charged with second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony.

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement was dispatched at about 4:05 a.m. to a residence in St. Cloud on a reported knife complaint. The victim briefly spoke with a dispatcher and said he had just been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they found the hallway filled with thick black smoke and heard residents yelling for help. Officers immediately began evacuating elderly and immobile residents while working to control the fire.

Court records show Brooklyn Center police were called to Cub Foods at 3245 County Road 10 after reports of a fight that was upgraded while officers were en route to a stabbing.
